How taxes work on a parcel from China arriving in Chile, as of October 2026. Always check the official source.

Since late 2025 (Tax Compliance Law) international purchases pay 19% VAT from the first dollar; the under-USD-41 exemption is gone.

• Under USD 500: 19% VAT only.
• USD 500 or more: 6% general duty plus 19% VAT (on value + duty), with customs clearance.

Customs can detain goods that infringe a registered trademark. Declare the real value: undervaluing is illegal.
